One of the biggest reasons is to prevent possibility of lawsuits if somebody is injured. Secondly, accidents cut down on working time. Third, property and goods can be damaged during mishaps. The majority of mishaps are attributed to workers who are not trained. Employers are responsible for making certain that all workers who are using the forklift are correctly trained in risks and safety. Never let anyone on a forklift who isn't correctly trained to use the forklift. Your business should develop and post in a location which is visible all forklift safety procedures.
Instead of going through training because employees are required to, they must have a positive attitude in doing so. You as the employer must help staff know the importance of correct training. Let them understand that they could kill or injure not only themselves, but other people, if they make mistakes. It is up to you to ensure that your staff go through training seriously.
