Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic forklift units are equipped with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck offering great height and versatility. The arm, or crane, is referred to as a telescopic boom. The boom allows the individual using it to maintain a high degree of control while raising the load to great heights. Standard forklifts could not move the cargo away from and towards the forklift cab, whereas a telescopic forklift could allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is commonly utilized in agriculture and construction. It is recommended for applications where greater control and lift is needed.
In cases requiring high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments known as forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which enable the operator to apply uniform clamping force when picking up a load. It comes with a backrest which protects the cargo from damage.
A slip sheet attachment fits onto a slip sheet forklift. It is used for storing systems that don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This kind of system is useful for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A lift platform that is meant to lift personnel is known as a Man Basket. It attaches to the forks on the forklift and a chain or strap is utilized to attach the basket to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the workers from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the safety harness of the worker.
