Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage places tidy and to store pallets of goods and supplies, a reach truck could be utilized. The reach truck comes in quite a few types: the stand-up reach, double-deep reach and straddle reach.
The most basic kind is the stand-up. The truck forks slide beneath the pallet and move it to the correct storage location. The forks slide the pallet into position. This particular type of reach truck is suitable when shelving units are only one pallet in depth.
Best for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to accommodate two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, which is like the stand-up, is usually used. This particular version consists of telescopic forks designed to put the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when one more pallet should go into the same shelving section.
Straddle reaches have the additional advantage of being able to not only slide under the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in many directions. This particular version is best in conditions where goods would not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
Often more than one kind of reach truck is required inside warehouses. Manufacturing facilities and textile firms use various types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to utilize and could increase productivity while making the most of available storage space.
