Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries in the year 1966, after he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" that was used to lower and raise the hoist. This device greatly impressed customers and thus, the name was established.
Genie has moved into numerous new markets, as the need for lifts and work platforms grew. Over time, as the requirements for new machines to meet many applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for example, Genie went into making stick booms, telehandlers, light towers, man-lifts and articulated booms.
Genie decided to obtain a partner who had the same values because of the economic recession in the beginning of the 2000s, when they partnered with Terex. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers across the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the initial few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie machines continue to be sold under the Genie brand name.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their clients. Genie has always been continually dedicated to improving the quality and efficiency in addition to minimizing wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering exceptional support. These are the very work disciplines that have made Genie a trusted brand over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machines.
The Bi-Energy and DC machinery offered by Genie provide quiet operation, emission-free even in the most delicate work settings. Where the machine needs to be driven significant distances, such as in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator together with the advantages of a 48V DC machinery.
Compared to any of the various kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach overall. These equipment are ideal for limited access places in construction and other industrial settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These machinery deliver the drive speed and supreme traction you require to be able to travel around the job area and work site.
